Week 4 Jordan Addison, Pitt

University of Pittsburgh wide receiver Jordan Addision, who played at Tuscarora High School in Frederick, has been named the DC Touchdown Club Washington Metro College Football Player of the Week.

Addison, who a DC Touchdown Club High School Football Player of the Week during the 2019 season, caught six passes for a career-high 179 yards and three touchdowns as the Panthers routed New Hampshire, 77-7, this past Saturday. Addison had touchdown catches of 24, 47 and 46 yards. It was his second consecutive game with three touchdown catches.

“He’s fast, he’s explosive,” Pitt Coach Pat Narduzzi said. “You see the [yards after catch] he’s getting. People are at his ankles and he’s making plays.”

Addison finished second last season in voting for the ACC Rookie of the Year, finishing with 60 catches for 666 yards and four touchdowns. He is off to a fast start this season, with 23 catches for 407 yards and is tied for the national lead with eight touchdown catches.

This week’s DC Touchdown Club Washington Metro College Football Player of the Week Honor Roll is:

·        Georgetown WR Cameron Crayton caught eight passes for 190 yards and one touchdown as the Hoyas lost to Columbia, 35-24.

·        Wake Forest S Coby Davis (Maret School) made four tackles, broke up a pass and intercepted a pass as the Demon Deacons beat Virginia, 37-17.

·        Bowie State KR-PR Kwincy Hall returned a punt 50 yards for a touchdown and returned a kickoff 65 yards to set up another score as the Bulldogs beat Livingstone, 49-0. He was named the CIAA Special Teams Player of the Week.

·        Appalachian State DL Jalen McLeod (Friendship Collegiate Academy) made four tackles (two for losses) and had one sack as the Mountaineers beat Marshall, 31-30.

·        Maryland QB Taulia Tagovailoa completed 31 of 41 passes for 384 yards and three touchdowns as the Terrapins beat Kent State, 37-16.

·        Gannon LB Keith Thompson (Woodbridge HS) made five tackles and returned a fumble a school-record 89 yards for a touchdown as the Golden Knights beat Clarion, 56-21. He was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference West Division Defensive Player of the Week.
