Week 12: Jordan Addison, Minnesota Vikings

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addision, who starred at Tuscarora High School in Frederick, has been named the DC Touchdown Club Pro Football Player of the Week after the best game of his career helped the Vikings edge the Chicago Bears, 30-27 in overtime this past Sunday.

Addison, who was the DC Touchdown Club Washington Metro College Player of the Year in 2022, burst out of a bit of a sophomore slump by catching eight passes for 162 yards – both career highs -- and one touchdown. Addison’s final catch was a key 13-yard gain on third-and-10 in overtime after the Vikings had blew an 11-point lead in the final two minutes of regulation.

“We’ve been waiting for that career game for Jordan,” Vikings star wide receiver Jordan Jefferson told reporters. “Today was definitely that day. For him to catch some big plays, and create them into even bigger plays, is something special.”

Addison was the Vikings first-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft and followed up with a terrific rookie season that included 70 catches for 911 yards and 10 touchdowns. But he had struggled somewhat this year, with only one previous game with more than three catches and a season-high of just 72 yards receiving.

"I've been waiting for this Addison kind of game," Vikings Coach Kevin O'Connell said afterwards. "And it's the way the game played out today with wanting to have him majorly involved, and then him going out and making a lot of plays."

"Today was just my day," Addison said with a smile.
