Week 14: Jordan Addison, Minnesota Vikings

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison, who starred at Tuscarora High School in Frederick, has been named the DC Touchdown Club Pro Football Player of the Week for the second time in three weeks after his terrific performance helped the Vikings beat the Atlanta Falcons, 42-21, this past Sunday.

Addison, who was the DC Touchdown Club Washington Metro College Player of the Year in 2022, caught eight passes for 133 yards and a career-high three touchdowns.

That came on the heels of his career-best game two weeks ago, where he caught eight passes for 162 yards and one touchdown in a 30-27 win over the Chicago Bears.

“It was in the game plan this week that if they played us a certain way, we were going to have some opportunities,” Addison said. “We capitalized on them.”

Addison was the Vikings first-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft and followed up with a terrific rookie season that included 70 catches for 911 yards and 10 touchdowns. But he had struggled somewhat this year, with only one previous game with more than three catches and a season-high of just 72 yards receiving until his breakout performance against the Bears.

"JA is playing a very high level of football right now," Darnold told reporters after the game. "Early on in the season, just keeping his head down and continuing to work, I think that was the biggest thing for him. And obviously, if teams want to try to push a little bit of coverage over to Jets (Justin Jefferson), we've got another guy to be able to make them pay."
